The Step It Up 2007 rally drew a large crowd of various ages and backgrounds in cold, damp weather at Evansville's Four Freedoms monument to protest Vectren's plans for new coal fired power plants. They were also promoting alternative energy sources and clean air.

The crowd gathers to listen to speeches before the march to Vectren's Evansville headquarters.

Dr. Peter Fritz, Energy Chair for the Hoosiers' Chapter of the Sierra Club, explains how the adapted technology in a calculator can be used to power one's home.

Sam Labudde, Executive Director of The Endangered Species Project, helps dismantle the staging area before the march.

Wendy Knipe Bredhold, organizer of Step It Up Evansville, starts the walk towards Vectren.

Marchers make their way to the Vectren building.

The marchers begin to fully encircle Vectren's Evansville headquarters.

The Worldwide Drum Wave drew a variety of participants to Wesselmans Park in Evansville, Indiana Sunday night. The local event, organized by Doug Luzar and Jack Schenk, was part of a world wide drum playing, noise making for peace that occurred from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in all times zones around the world for a 24 hour period.
